About
Madi Knott

I'm a product designer and fabricator with a multidisciplinary practice rooted in curiosity, problem-solving, and hands-on making. My work spans metal fabrication, contract furniture, industrial design, and research-driven projects—often blending artistic exploration with functional outcomes.

My process is both technical and tactile. I’m deeply involved in hands-on prototyping and product integration. I bring a structured, strategic lens to every project—incorporating market research, budgeting, product planning, and pricing into the design process. I aim to create solutions that are not only well-crafted and engaging but also viable for production and responsive to market needs.

Collaboration is central to my practice. I regularly work with clients, industry stakeholders, and suppliers to bring ideas from concept to completion—balancing creative intent with practical requirements, timelines, and budgets. Clear communication and thoughtful coordination are key to every successful project I take on.

Over the years, I’ve worked across industries including manufacturing, film, and advertising, shaping a practice that’s flexible, collaborative, and grounded in real-world constraints. I’m especially interested in reimagining functional objects—turning them into pieces that invite interaction and spark joy, while still meeting rigorous performance standards.

At the heart of my practice is a belief that good design solves problems, tells stories, and makes everyday experiences a little more meaningful.
